Review: Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser

OK this is my first review so bear with me!

The first thing that attracted me to this product was the price - at £2.99 this product is excellent value. For about 6 months now I have umm'd and err'd over buying Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser however I could never justify the £13.25 price tag for 100ml of product. Plus while my skin isn't prone to breakouts I do flush easily and the wrong product can leave me with stupidly red checks so I'm always a bit hesitant about trying new skin products.

Packaging:

The product comes in a 200ml plastic squeezy tube with a good sized muslin cloth - both are inside a cream cardboard box. To be honest both the packaging and design are a bit boring however for the price tag I'm not going to complain that the packaging isn't super glamorous or eye catching.

Product:

The cleanser is white and creamy with a subtle scent. To me it smells slightly almondy but not overwhelmingly so, however I am notoriously bad at picking out scents so you'd be best trusting your own nose on on this one! You apply the product to your dry face & neck and rub in for a minute or so. I thought, perhaps stupidly, that the product would lather when applied to my face but it doesn't. However it goes on smoothly and it's very creamy. Once you have rubbed it in you run the muslin cloth under hot water, wring it out slightly and remove the cleanser with it. Then splash you face with cold water to really refresh your skin.

Effect:

My initial thoughts were "wow my checks are so red!!" however as the muslin cloth provides slight exfoliation I shouldn't have really been surprised by my skins reaction. I used the product before bed and by morning my checks had returned to their normal pink state. I also experienced a little tightness in my skin however I find this with almost every product and may just be something I'm prone to. The next morning my skin felt great - it was soft and seemed less dull and more bright than normal. I could definitely tell a difference in my skin from using it.

At the moment I am using this every other day as I think it's too rich to use on my skin every day so my skin isn't very dry. I love the results it gives and while I've only been using it a few days I'm excited to see the ongoing results. I think this is a fab product and it is a great introduction into Hot Cloth Cleansers!

Vitamin E Exfoliating Body Scrub £2.99

I love a good body scrub but I'm quite particular about which ones I use. It's a real bug bear of mine that some products call themselves scrubs when they're more like slightly grainy shower gels. To me a scrub has to do exactly that and *scrub*! Don't know how good this one will be but it seems promising.

Superdrug Retractable Lip Brush & Eyeshadow Brush £2.99 & £2.49

These were impulse buys as I already have a set of brushes but the GOSH Nail Glitter I bought needs to the excess to be brushed off and I didn't want to wreck my existing brushes. As for the lip brush I bought this as I am trying to get into wearing lipstick more so thought it'd be handy to have around.

Superdrug Haul (Part 1)

I've decided to split my Superdrug haul into two posts as I think it'll be too image heavy otherwise.

My main reason for visiting Superdrug (I've always been a Boots girl really) was to get my hands on some Sleek Pout Paints and MUA Heaven and Earth Palette. Unfortunately my local Superdrug doesn't stock either. Fortunately there were lots of other goodies for me to snap up.

I've been wanting to try Liz Earle's Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser for a long time but I just couldn't justify the £13.25 price tag. My skin is very temperamental so spending £13 on something that might made my skin flare up was just out of the question. However when I spotted Superdrug version for only £2.99 I thought I'd give it a try.

Clarity Rapid Results Treatment Pen £0.99p

I don't normally get spots (just lots and lots of redness) but as this was such a bargain at 99p I thought it would be perfect for those spot related emergencies.

Barry M Shimmering Eye and Lip Crayon £4.59

I've been looking for a pale eye crayon to use as a base for ages and I love Barry M products so this purchase was a no brainer.

GOSH Nail Glitter in Topaz Lavender £3.99

I hate to admit this but I am a life long nail bitter however I do go through phases were I will grow my nails. About 4 months ago I managed to grow them really long but before I knew it I'd chewed them all off again! However this little wonder from GOSH has inspired me to grow them again - this glitter is so pretty I can't wait to try it out.

Blogging Newbie

Hello!

I'm a total newbie to blogging but I've been reading make up blogs for quite a while now and I've been inspired by all the lovely bloggers out there! While I'm new to this thing we call blogging my obsession with make up goes way back to when I was little. I used to watch my mum putting her make up on and I guess I've been hooked since then.

A Little Bit About Me

I'm 26 & live in Salford with my fiance and our two cats. I own far too much make up but can't stop buying more despite the state of my overdraft balance. I love high street & high end brands - I'm yet to be convinced that you have to spend obscene amounts of money on make up in order to get a good product. At the moment I'm searching for my holy grail foundation - I suffer quite badly from red cheeks and dark circles so I'm constantly searching for something that will cover both of these problem areas.

My first proper post is going to be an overview of all the stuff I bought from Superdrugs today so here's a taster of what I bought...
